Keith Lloyd Davenport

This is a visual journey exploring the connection between my childhood in the North of Scotland and my parents' and grandparents' roots in the West of Scotland, where we spent our school holidays.

This project documents significant locations both in and around Glasgow, the Moray and Buchan coastline and the journeys in between.

Cianalas - (genitive singular cianalais) homesickness, longing, nostalgia
A’ dol dhachaigh: going home(wards)

A deep seated sense of belonging to the place where your roots lie. Normally attributed to the Outer Hebrides. There is no sadness or melancholy in cianalas, only the realisation of what is truly important in life.
